One-Year Professional Program
Immerse yourself in an intense, one-year program of study. Designed for the student passionate about learning photography, the One-Year Professional Program offers an ideal environment for students looking to prepare for college or graduate admittance, change career paths, network with fellow photographers, learn from working professionals, or simply refine their photographic skill set. Over the course of one-year, students choosing to enroll in the program will receive unlimited access* to Julia Dean classes, workshops, exhibits and events. Students will have the flexibility to design his or her curriculum as they please. After completing their one-year intensive study of photography, students will receive a certificate issued by the Julia Dean Photo Workshops and take part in a graduation ceremony.
One-Year Professional Program students will receive priority enrollment in all workshops and will enjoy numerous perks and benefits such as placement on the Dean’s List, which includes free passes to all guest lecture and speaking presentations, invitation to all Julia Dean exhibits and special events, access to the school’s new digital and traditional darkrooms, and automatic Membership to JDPW. In addition, full-time students will be permitted to have an online portfolio exhibit on the Julia Dean website.**
Upon completing the program students will be entitled to a one-person show at the Julia Dean Gallery.***
Admittance into the One-Year Professional Program is by application only. To request an application, please complete the form below. Incomplete applications will not be considered. A limited number of students will be selected to begin their studies in September.

Rules and Policies:
On occasion a particular class or workshop may cancel due to certain situations or events such as low student enrollment or unforeseen instructor conflicts. In the event of such an occurrence, the Julia Dean Photo Workshops possess the sole right in making scheduling decisions. Should the decision be made to cancel a class or workshop, the Julia Dean Photo Workshops will not be held liable for any credit or money owed. Students choosing to enroll in the full-time program recognize and acknowledge the risk that a certain class or workshop may cancel without the possibility of the course being offered again. No time extensions will be provided.
* Does not include Travel Workshops.
** Students may be required to pay for costs associated with uploading his or her portfolio to the Julia Dean website such as image scanning fees or web design fees. The online portfolio exhibit will last for at least one year after graduation.
*** All one-person shows will be held at the Julia Dean Gallery. Exhibits will run for two weeks. With the exception of gallery rental fees, students are required to pay for all expenses associated with producing the exhibit and opening reception including framing and hanging expenses, food and beverage purchases, photocopying and invitation expenses, curator expenses, security and any other additional expenses.
**** 50% of the tuition is due at the time of enrollment and is nonrefundable and nontransferable. Payment plans are available. The applicable fee covers all tuition and benefits except added course fees such as model fees, equipment fees, location permit fees, or any other associated fee listed along with the applicable workshop fee.
The Julia Dean Photo Workshops reserves the sole right to make changes to any of the above policies without notice.
