The Julia Dean Photo Workshops

Paris

November 14 – 21, 2010

Join acclaimed Creative Director Nan Oshin and award-winning photographer Mark Edward Harris as they lead our photographic explorations daily, in tandem with guiding you through individual discussions about your work. An integral part of the week will be investigating and discussing some of the ways in which you can integrate your personal vision with the series of images you produce while working with us in Paris. This unique vision is critically important if you are interested in translating it to either a commercial or fine art application. Regardless of the direction and focus of your photography, we will work with each of you in shaping the photography, whether it be of a documentary, fashion, food, or architectural nature. In addition, we will have the opportunity to interface and experience the international photography community while in Paris, during this week of Paris Photo.

Our week will begin with an introduction into various photographers’ work including those who have used Paris for inspiration on their paths to self-expression. From there we will venture out into guided daily photographic sojourns, as well as group and individual meetings to view and critique the work, discuss ways that will help support the work throughout the week, and ultimately will help in the design and refinement of the work as a coherent series that becomes either an integral part of your existing work, or serves as a point of departure into new realms of seeing and shooting. While Paris is our backdrop, the theme for the week’s work will be in helping to define and establish your vision over this series of images.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with both Nan and Mark, individually and as a group while exploring and experiencing the unlimited photographic possibilities that the city presents.
