The Julia Dean Photo Workshops, in collaboration with photographers Art Streiber and Andrew Southam, is thrilled to present a new series featuring some of the biggest names in the industry. A quarterly series of spotlight interviews with the industry’s top photographers, "Photographers on Photography" was conceived as a way to give the photographic community in Southern California access to well-known, working photographers. Art Streiber (www.artstreiber.com) is a freelance photographer specializing in reportage, travel, portrait and entertainment photography. His editorial clients range from Vanity Fair and Entertainment Weekly, to Popular Mechanics and W Magazine. His numerous entertainment clients include HBO, NBC, CBS, ABC, Fox television, TBS, TNT, A&E, Universal Studios, Columbia-TriStar, Dreamworks and Warner Brothers Studios. Art has been working with Digital Fusion since it opened its doors in 1999 and currently resides in Los Angeles.
Andrew Southam (www.andrewsoutham.com) is an Australian photographer who has lived in Sydney, Milan, New York, and now Los Angeles. He began his career photographing the Sydney Theatre Company and the Australian Ballet. He is considered to have taken some of the definitive photographs of Liv Tyler, Gwyneth Paltrow, Natalie Portman, Kevin Spacey, and of the singer Jewel. His work has been honored by the Society of Publication Designers and a Dove award, and his portraits have been exhibited in the Australian National Portrait Gallery. Andrew presently lives in Silverlake with his wife, Tracy, and William, his baby son and favorite subject.
