If you feel confident with a camera but less so with a flash, and would like to master portable lights, this workshop is for you.  Our goal is to learn how to utilize flash so well that the outcome looks like beautiful ambient light. We work with flash in various lighting situations, using it both as the main source of light and as a fill light.

Among the topics covered are the differences between flash in manual mode and automatic (TTL) mode, how to determine exposure, controlling the light output of flash, ways ot diffuse flash, and how and why to include to exclude ambient light. In addition to demonstrations of using flash in a direct or bounce mode, on or off the camera, and in the wireless mode, our days include critiques and time for practicing various flash techniques on location with models.
