Intermediate Photoshop

© Ed Freeman
This two-day intensive course is designed to advance beginning students' skills in the three basic Photoshop functions: selections, adjustments and retouching. We will use the magic wand, quick-select and manual-select tools in various combinations and then explore some of the myriad possibilities that are offered up by quick masks and layer masks. Adjustment layers, including hue/saturation, color balance and curves will be discussed in depth; retouching tools, including the clone tool, healing brush and patch tool will be covered as well. We will attempt to set students straight on the endlessly confusing but vitally important subject of resolution and image size. As much as possible, the class will be geared to individual students' areas of concern.
As this course will not have access to a digital lab, students are required to bring their own laptops loaded with at least Photoshop CS, preferably CS2 or 3 (and a mouse or graphics tablet).
